I am staring at this blank canvas, wishing that I have some inspiration whatsoever to begin with. But none. So I'm off to an awkward start.

2011 is coming to an end soon, which means my "high-school" years are almost over. I am astonished by the speed of it all. Over these 4 years, I have had the best and supposedly the worst times in my life. No. The best time of my life should be reserved for the moment when I took my first breath. Ok, I sound cheesy.

Hello all,
I am going to sum up the 4 years of my life in a post!

2009: This year can be regarded as the one of the best years I've had. I mean, I was in the amazing class of 2/1'09 and I got to know JY and WQ, who accepted my quirky personality without qualms (which I am grateful for). Plus, I got to take part in the North Zone basketball tournament not as a benchwarmer. That is a feat for me, unfortunately. To top it all off, I was doing pretty well for my studies that year, which makes it all the more a fantastic year for me! I can't remember the details of the various events that occured, but it was a year with no major drama or setbacks I guess. (Thank goodness!)

2010: I got prettier. Haha, it's true. I ditched my bowl haircut and opted for long hair. I succeeded in growing my hair out, but I chopped it off again in december. I can't remember why. I think I was sick of seeing long-hair on girls. AND the hairdresser was hot. I'd have to admit, it was a bold move, because I remember staring into the mirror right after I cut my hair asking myself, "what have I done?" and wishing that there was an undo button. But now I'm glad I made that move. I tried something new! In this year, I also got to meet new people! Loads and loads of them! My new classmates primarily. Furthermore, I got to meet my sister's boyfriend, Justin! It was funny when he first came to our house, because she didn't tell my parents it was her boyfriend, so my mum was at my ear that entire day saying,"your sis is bringing home a BOY today!". But he's nice because he buys me koi and gong cha. I sound materialistic (yeap, you can bribe me with gong cha). But yea, my sis and him are really cute together too! Why am I even talking about this?

Enough of posting for today. I've lost the mood to write.

I'm feeling pretty inspired now, so I guess I'd ride on the inspiration and tell you about my visit to Las Vegas.

Las Vegas - the city that never sleeps.
How true.
What strikes me most in Las Vegas is the prevalence of casinos there.
From hotels to the airport terminals and even in Starbucks, you'd always find a place to gamble.
There are no clocks in the casinos, a tactic - I learned - that is used to prevent gamblers from differentiating between night and day. So these hard-core gamblers keep gambling until they're penniless and in need for alms to hitch a cab back home.
Food is pretty cheap in Las Vegas compared to the other states. According to my tour guide, the low prices is an attempt to lure people into the restaurant, and consequently tempt them into gambling in the restaurant-cum-casino. You are almost always bombarded by the slot-machines and blackjack tables whenever you step into an innocent-looking restaurant. My point is, it is impossible to quit gambling if you live in Las Vegas, unless you just so happen to have superb self-restrain. But then again, why would you have to quit gambling if you have such self restrain in the first place?

Anyway, I catched a Las Vegas show during the time I was there because Las Vegas's shows were supposedly the best in the world.
I wouldn't miss it for the world.
So my family embarked on the journey of choosing a show that was on that night.
They settled for one that was called Jubilee.
As innocent as the name sounds, don't be fooled.
It was a topless show.
I'm not kidding, the men and women were topless (the women were not even wearing their bras), and their bottoms were covered with bare strips of cloth that complemented their overall costume.
Boy oh boy, I felt like I was assaulted every minute. And I had no idea why.
I'm not going to lie, their special effects were awesome and it was fairly entertaining. But I just couldn't get past myself and the fact that there were topless women dancing right in front of me. Oh, I did enjoy staring at guys' abs though. Boy, they were hot.
Overall, it was a rather pleasant experience but I wouldn't say it was worth the USD105 my dad paid per person for it. Oh and it was M18, I kinda got smuggled in after the show started, so that explains how I got to watch ~~open porn~~ at the age of 16.

The next day, we went to Grand Canyon in Las Vegas. I actually had no idea that Grand Canyon was in Las Vegas. I just couldn't picture such a magnificent natural landscape in such an urban setting. Then it hit me, Grand Canyon's west rim was a 2hour drive away, while it's south rim was a 4 hour drive away.
IT WAS MAGNIFICENT.
GORGEOUS.
AWE-INSPIRING.

I kid.
I was too cold to admire the scenery. It was about 1 degrees there, a supposedly manageable temperature considering that I had a coat. But brilliant me didn't have the brain to wear long johns. I was able to manage the cold, but when the wind blew, I could literally feel it biting into my bones. Chilling. The worse thing was, I was supposed to have my lunch there, but all their dining areas were out in the open (so that you can admire the scenery while eating, though I didn't appreciate the effort very much). So there I was, shivering uncontrollably, while the persistant wind assaulted me mercilessly. I quickly gobbled my food down and retreated to the warm haven of the bus. Fortunately, there was a good one hour of relatively good weather and it was during that time that I was able to really admire nature's magnificent creation.

Inspiration has eluded me. So I shall stop here.

Work was amazing(:
I'm not refering to the actual work, that was just pure back-breaking and torturous labour.
I'm actually refering to the entire experience, and the experience was wonderous because the people I met there were AWESOME. I made plenty of new friends these 3 days.
I shall list them down lest I forget them in time.
- Bryan (This is the 5th Bryan I've known): a cool, friendly and funny person with a cool haircut. He works at Microsoft booth (I was working at the entrance of the I.T fair), which is right in front of the entrance.
- David : this guy who is probably 30plus years old, who came and shook my hand asking,"can I be your friend?". That, is just plain weird.
- Min Kang : My boss(supervisor) - friendly guy. I kept asking him for a raise because my pay was pathetic. I think we've become kinda cool friends too. I remember I was taking a break and he came over and asked me if I finished giving out the flyers. I just told him straight - I'm just lazy. Well, he laughed.
- Agnes: My bigger boss. She's damn classy and she is really nice.
- 3 girls at the Toshiba booth : They wanted to add me on fb. They're quite pretty & nice. Amazing salespeople.
These are the most impressionable people, though I did become acquaintances with some others. Oh did I mention? My co-part-timer, a china guy, I presume, is quite nice too.
OH YEA. I'M GONNA BITCH.
Since I was working at the entrance, there were several people who came forward to ask me for directions. There were some I could answer, some I could not. But there was this guy, when I told him that I'm not really sure where hall 4b was, he sounded really pissed off and said, "Forget it!" and stormed off. Do I look like a GPS to you?
Alright, I shall stop here now. This is probably boring for you people. I shall probably make this blog private, then I don't have to try and make the posts interesting all the time.

So I went for my morning run today.
Finally, after days of procastination.
Let's just say I was pathetic.
I had barely ran half of the intended distance when I stopped.
And so I brisk-walked(more likely strolled) the remaining distance.
This is humiliating. Why am I even writing about this?
Anyway, my ultimate destination was the library and I borrowed two books there.
Namely,
1. The Art of Sign Language
2. The unofficial guide of Disneyland
I was deliberating whether I should make a Corn Chowder after chancing upon a recipe book in the library. But I decided against it. If there's one thing I'm sure of, it is that I am a really bad cook. Although I don't really mind if someone decides to make a Chowder for me(: (hint to all good cooks out there)
For those of you who might be pondering over my apparent lack of taste in book-choosing, let's just say that these were the books I wanted to borrow even before my O-levels started.
I borrowed the first book because I am intrigued by sign language. The interest was probably sparked off by the series,"Switched at Birth" that I watched. On the surface, I tell people I learn sign language because it's meaningful. But in reality, I just find it the easiest language to learn. No Grammar, no Punctuation(not that I know of). Who knows, I may also learn to criticise people in sign language!
I borrowed the second book because of my upcoming holiday tour to US.
The only thing that's putting me off is the 22hours flight.
22HOURS! HOW THE HELL DO YOU SURVIVE 22HOURS SOLELY ON MOVIES?
someone just stab me.
I'm probably going to end up being claustrophobic after that flight.
Despite the long haul flight, I am kinda excited about the trip.
These are my objectives:
1. Watch a broadway musical in Las Vegas/San Fransico
2. Take LOADS of photos with my favourite Disney characters
3. Try not to fall into the Grand Canyon
4. SHOP LIKE MAD
5. Go crazy with the amusement rides
... and more.
but these are the main objectives.
It's pretty exciting I guess.
I'm done here, shall go watch my Hong Kong Drama Serial now.

What an amazing weekend I've had!

Friday- Prom
I'm not gonna lie.
I expected much more from prom, considering the fact that I paid $85 to attend.
Nevertheless, it was an amazing experience.
And the thing is, EVERYONE LOOKED GORGEOUS.
I felt so inferior standing next to some of them, though I was quite pleased with the fact that I was taller than people who are supposedly taller than me. eg. Mr Ng.
I can still remember his face when he saw me. He was like,"EH, YOU CHEATED!"
Anyway, I was quite disappointed with my up-do though.
I wanted to have a french twist, but thanks my indecisiveness, I ended up with something I didn't really like. But WQ,JY and Jieyi said it was nice.
So yea, I have weird taste.
Before I forget, I'd have to specifically thank my sis for helping me and my friends do our makeup, or we'd be completely clueless as to how to go about painting our faces.
Moving on, the programmes were fairly entertaining.
But what was funny was Pei Shao Pao's incessant chattering and rebuttals to what the emcee was saying.
I wanted to win something in the lucky draw that night.
BUT I DIDN'T.
guess I wasn't lucky enough.
I'm experiencing a brainfart right now.
Probably gonna continue posting about prom and the weekend some other time.

I love those type of friendships that don’t require a lot of effort. We may not see each other as much as we want to or talk as much as we used to, but it doesn’t change the fact that we’re friends no matter what. They can do their own thing and I can do my own thing. What’s important is that whenever we do see each other again, we can pick up right from where we left off without making it awkward. Any friendship that works out like that is a friendship worth having.

Temptations

"How come," he asked, "there's no gravestone?"

Gus looked at the freshly turned earth. "It's too soon," she said.

Chris nodded and stuffed his hands in the pockets of his coat. "Which way is the top?" he asked.

Gus looked at him dumbly. "What do you mean?"

"The head," he explained. "Which end is Emily's head at?"

Shocked, Gus glanced wildly around the cemetary. The plots were not straight, but fairly haphazard. However, a predominant number of headstones were facing a certain way." I guess the far end," she said. "I'm not sure."

Back to the topic of Home Alone Day One.
No encounters with supernatural phenomenon.
All in all, I am seriously not accustomed to being alone.
Lack of communication.
I find my left brain communicating with my right.
Pathetic huh?
For what it's worth, god has showered love upon me,
keeping me entertained with the YOG which passed by my house.
and as much as this may sound unbelievable,
I saw a balloon from my window today.
It disappeared into the clouds.
I don't know why, but it seemed symbolic to me.
Oh well, shall attempt to make breakfast tomorrow.
